Microchipping

☆ATTENTION LAMB BUYERS☆
As of May 2020, Microchipping is available for all lambs!
︎These chips are ISO certified & recognized worldwide. They can be picked up by any universal scanner.
No chip will come registered, as there is no livestock chip database, they are all cat/dog based and vary in cost & in what they offer. That is the buyer's responsibility, if they choose to do so. I am offering chipping as buyer protection & personal ID. If the sheep is resold, buyer can be 100% sure it's the same individual.
The cost to register a chip is $26.95 per chip. This is for life. Each chipped animal will come with a Registration Card that will tell you how & where to register the chip.

︎Each chip is $7. There is no extra or hidden fee for the chipping process.
Rgistered spotted rams & ewes will come with chips at no additional cost!

︎Spotted wethers(castrated because of bad conformation or sold as pet) will not come with a chip. Buyer may request chipping.
︎Spotted ewes with bad conformation will be culled. Zero exceptions. No chip.
︎︎All other ram & ewe lambs(black & offwhite) can come with a chip at buyer's expense.
Note, there is no wait list for spotted lambs
Spotted lambs will be listed on the current Lambs Page. They are available as first deposit, first served. They will not be held for any reason without a deposit.

Waiting List for Ewe Lambs
Ewe lambs are available at 10 weeks of age.
Only specific ewes will be chosen to become available.
I will go down the Waiting List to contact potential buyers.
Potential buyers have five (5) calendar days from the day the email is sent to decide to accept or pass on the ewe. If, by the sixth day, you do not respond with which you want or you pass on the sheep, the next person on the list will be contacted.
You will need to send in your deposit(s) for each ewe you have chosen to hold. You have fourteen (14) calendar days for your deposit to arrive or the lamb will be available to the next person in line.

Ram & Wether Lambs
These lambs are on a first deposit, first served basis. They are available to reserve from birth.
To reserve your male lamb, you must put down a deposit on him. You have seven (7) calendar days for your deposit to arrive or the lamb will be available to the next person interested.

Bottle Baby Lambs
Lambs will only be pulled when a buyer is ready to pick up the lamb(s).
It is the buyers responsibility to transfer the lamb over to the bottle.
No lambs can be sold as bottle lambs after 1wk of age.

Lambs are only available if the following conditions are met-
Mother is ill or rejects the lamb(s)*
Twins or triplets are born, one of which can be bottle fed.
Bottle lambs must be picked up within two (2) calendar days of reservation. The lamb(s) are left on the mother until pickup, unless the mother cannot feed them herself.

*For any lamb that needs to be pulled, because the mother rejects it or somehow cannot feed it, they will be started on a bottle. Once a buyer is found, the lamb must be picked up within two (2) calendar days.

Bottle lambs need the new owners to give them their two CDT vaccines at 3-4 weeks of age & a follow up booster in 3wks.
No supplies come with the lamb.

REGISTRATION
We have Dual & Triple Registered (NABSSAR, OEBSR & BSSBA) ewes and rams.
Buyer may choose from:
1) Only NABSSAR registered
2) Only OEBSR registered
3) Only BSSBA registered
4) Dual registered
4) Triple registered
Please specify which option you would like when you send in your deposit.
Certificate of Registration (CoR) takes 2-3 weeks for NABSSAR & BSSBA and 3-12 weeks for OEBSR to arrive.
If your lamb's CoR has not arrived yet, you will receive copies of the application.

Registering your wether is another option. This option comes with a $20 additional fee to cover paperwork & printed photo that must be sent in. This fee is due with your deposit.

Deposits
All deposits are non-refundable.
If the lamb you have reserved is injured or dies prior to pickup, your deposit will be refunded.
The deposit per sheep is 50%.
50% deposit is required before any ram lamb is castrated specifically for you.

PAYMENT
Cash, Paypal and personal check. No credit cards.
Checks are not accepted at time of pick up. Cash or PayPal is accepted at time of pick up. Cell phone/internet service is not usually available at the farm. You may need to drive up the road to get a signal or pay before arrival.

DELIVERY
I am occasionally able to meet/deliver sheep, up to 100 miles from Culpeper, Virginia.
Fee is $1 per loaded mile, to be paid in full at time of delivery.
Lamb[s] must be paid in full before delivery.
No-shows forfeit payments.

PICKUP
All lambs must be picked up within two (2) weeks of a deposit being placed. Failure to do so will result in forfeiture of the lamb & deposit.
If the lamb you have placed a deposit on is not yet weaned, then you have two (2) weeks from weaning age to pickup.
All ram & wether lambs are available to be picked up once they turn 8 weeks of age.

OUT-OF-STATE SALES
All out of state purchases will need a Certificate of Health by a Virginia veterinarian.
The price of a Certificate of Health is roughly $150-250, depending on which vet is available.
It is additional to the lamb purchase price.
Lambs must be picked up within 30 days of the vet issued certificate. Failure to do so means you need to pay for a new inspection & certificate.
Lambs purchased out of state must be fully paid for before leaving the property.
Transportation arrangements and payments to the transporter are the buyer's responsibility.

I have used Jonathan Lippert, on Facebook, several times when buying & selling lambs & adults.
I have used Blarney Heights Transport, on Facebook, once for lambs from California.
